Sedum Palmeri – Palmer’s Sedum (Cold Hardy)

Beautiful cold hardy sedum (-15C)!  While not fully winter-hardy in much of the country, it can also be planted in a pot and left out in frosts and milder freezes.  In fact, it is most beautiful in a pot, mature, in chilled temperatures with deep red blush.  Spreads vigorously, can make a 2 ft clump in a a couple years in ground.  

• Pot diameter is 2.5in/6cm.
• Sedum palmeri care: follow general instructions on the care page for outdoor succulents, minding cold limits.  Will re-root easily and start to grow/spread.
• Water needs: low
• Additional notes for this species: may die back in a hard freeze (colder than -4/-5), but will come back from the ground vigorously in spring.  May be less hardy if in pot (don’t leave it out much more than -5C)
• Growth rate: medium- fast
• Cold hardy: yes, root hardy (planted in the ground) t0 zone 7 (-15C).
• Origin: native to Mexico.
